Winner – Small Scale Residential: Restoration, Conversion and Extension category

 

Old Rectory Cottage was recognised at the Sussex Heritage Awards for its sensitive restoration, conversion and extension of a historic rural home.

 

The project was commended for its careful balance of modern family living with the preservation of the building’s original character, successfully enhancing the cottage while respecting its architectural heritage within its rural Sussex setting.

Black Timber House

RIBA South East Awards 2023

Winner – Regional Award
Winner – Small Project of the Year

 

Black Timber House received two awards at the prestigious RIBA South East Awards 2023.

 

Set within the South Downs National Park, the project combines striking contemporary architecture with a highly sustainable, low-energy approach. Clad in charred English larch and designed around passive environmental principles, the house demonstrates how modern rural architecture can be both bold and sensitive to its setting.

Listed Property Awards 2024

Shortlisted

 

Black Tile House was shortlisted for the Listed Property Awards 2024 following the careful renovation and extension of a Grade II listed property in Firle.

 

The project combines traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary flint extension, creating a sensitive dialogue between old and new within a conservation area setting.
