This historic barn has been transformed into a space of comfort and relaxation, offering ancillary accommodation and pool house facilities within the grounds of a period property.The careful conversion and retrofit of the barn, has created a high-quality interior space that seamlessly combines historic detailing with modern standards and comport.
We fully insulated the barn, added underfloor heating and an air source heat pump. We increased the built fabric to high u-values and increased the thermal efficiency of the dwelling. The polished concrete floor adds a touch of contemporary elegance while maintaining warmth and energy efficiency. It also helps to act as a heat sink for additional solar gain from the new apertures.
We are committed to preserving architectural heritage and have carefully exposed existing beams, rafters, and flint walls, breathing new life into these historic elements. The result is an intimate and inviting interior space that projects quality and craftsmanship.
We fully tanked and insulated the barn structure. To enhance the connection between the dwelling and the rural landscape we strategically created new openings, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings.
The choice of materials and colour palettes was thoughtful, aimed at promoting well-being and a sense of calm. It’s a transformation that harmonizes the old and the new and has given new purpose to the structure.
