The Brief

The brief for Surrey House was to create a luxury family home that marries traditional and modern elements. The design successfully achieves this balance, starting with the façade which combines classic Georgian features with a modern twist. The use of ashlar render gives the exterior the appearance of stonework, adding to its traditional charm while ensuring a contemporary finish.

The front elevation features a symmetrical layout with elegant columns, sash windows, and a grand entrance highlighted by a sweeping spiral staircase and a dramatic crystal chandelier.

A Modern Approach

At the rear, the design transitions to a more contemporary style. An extension with a double-height vaulted ceiling houses a spacious kitchen and dining area. Sliding doors open this light-filled space directly onto the garden and pool area, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.

Details

The property includes five bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, a gym, and a double garage. The garden is enhanced with a modern pool and a sleek pool house. Overall, Surrey House has not only upgraded the site’s architectural appeal but also contributed positively to the aesthetic and functional quality of the local area.
